I'm glad to see that other people rushed out to get a CueCat, only to have
the novelty wear off after about 5 seconds.

One thing I wanted to do with my CueCat was hook it up to my Palm VII
(using something like this nifty but overpriced device:
http://www.pfuca.com/products/hhkb/hhcindex.html), and write a Palm Query
Application that would take the scanned ISBN and send it to mysimon.com or
some other comparison shopping service on the web.

That way, I could justify impulse purchases at [insert monolithic
Bookstore chain here] by quickly making sure I'm paying a reasonable price
for the book.

One of the many holes in this extravagant plan is that Palm.net coverage
is pretty shaky in large buildings (like a Bookstore), so in theory, I
could only check on books placed near the walls. Or I could take a book
off the shelf, and walk over near the window to check out the price :).
