addendum: I never said Napster was good or bad.

What I was trying to say is that it doesn't fit in the current
paradigm of "intellectual property". if the world changes it's
views of IP, then napster (and other SCM's) could become accepted.

on the scale of history, IP is relatively new.
and even in the world of IP today, there are 
plenty of people paying the bills simply by 
building/selling things that aren't patented 
or copyrighted. Today's concept of IP is not 
required to have a functioning, successful,
society.
