By similar reasoning as Steve's
> My general preference is topics that will be of actual use when
programming
but a different "event horizon" as Steve, I come to a slightly different
conclusion.
1. New Modules (might use some of them before P6)
2. Quantum (might learn something totally useless but important ,as well as
some usable techniques for OO abstraction; I should probably rate this lower
since it'll probably be covered in the class)
3. Perl6 (will eventually get to use Perl 6, but since I'm only just being
allowed to deploy 5.6, no great hurry to get confused)
4. Extreme (Ron will explain the obfuscation after YAPC anyway; but
Damian's obfuscatory techniques are probably something an old APL hacker
would appreciate)
5. Life (sounds like there's some interesting tech content)
6. Perligata (bleach with syntax ... not my preferred demonstration of
Filter::NotSimple)
