*>So I'm looking for ideas. What would those of you on the list not
*>working in bioinformatics be interested in hearing about? Or should I
*>just present a wide array of the ways I know of that Perl has been
*>applied to bioinformatics problems.

It's such a specialised field that it may be difficult to present a talk
to the uninitiated without being general...like chemists giving a talk
about polycyclic aromatic compounds or...talking about caffeine.

I'd be interested in what project other than the human genome that people
in bioinformatics are using perl to help in their research.

*>This may be something that's easier to brainstorm in person with a group
*>of people. If anyone would be interested in that, let me know.

ideas too :)
