At the risk of sounding like a troll, I'm reminded of a mailing list for IRC threats a few years back that was a great idea and went public.

Unfortunately once that happened; the participants became so paranoid that the entire list became useless and reduced to a discussion on who was going to run it and decide how and to whom information would be passed onto.

Ultimately the list died, although I don't remember when.  Once the list became more a source of entertainment (because of the bickering) and less a source of information I quietly unsubscribed.

Yes, there's a risk of providing information to the people we're fighting against, but the alternative is bickering and paranoia that ultimately results in nobody getting any information.  In that situation we're no better off than any of the other failed repositories.

I guess I'm just wondering what direction it's going.  Will I be informed or entertained?  I for one would much rather get potentially tainted information than no information at all.  At least I can base a decision using my best guesses on tainted information.
