The Boulder County Clerks office is looking for people to serve as election
judges for the August 8th primary and the November general election. Since
this is the first year that the vast majority of people with disabilities
will be able to vote secretly and independently, the county needs some
additional workers to assist with the direct record electronic voting
machines. Below is the information about the election judges and contact
information to sign up. They are in a bit of a time crunch so judges can be
trained. Please pass this on to your employees, volunteers and consumers.

Additional Election Judge Training Classes Being Offered
Boulder County is in need of election judges for both the August 8th Primary
and the November 7th General Elections. If you were interested in becoming
a judge, but were unable to attend the training classes held last week, we
have added two additional classes for this Saturday at the Clerk and
Recorder's office in Boulder. We are also looking for people who would be
willing to take an additional training class to become an electronic voting
machine judge.
Requirements
* Must be 18 years old or older
* Must be registered to vote in Boulder County
* Party affiliation does not matter
Job Description for Election Judges
* You must attend a 4 hour training class. Training classes are being
held this Saturday from either 8:00-12:00 p.m. or 1:00-5:00 p.m.
* You will be assigned to a precinct that may not be your own,
but very
likely within the city of your choice.
* You must be at your assigned polling location at 6:00 a.m. and
stay until
approx. 8:00 p.m.
* Once you are at your assigned polling location, you can't leave
until the
polls are closed; so you will need to bring food/drink with you.
* You will help set up the voting area at 6:00 a.m. Once the
polls open at
7:00 a.m., you will work at different stations: sign-in judge; ballot
judge; poll book judge, etc.
* You get paid $150 for the day.

**This is also a good fundraiser for organizations. They can get their
volunteers/members serving as election judges to agree to donate their pay
back to the organization.
