Richard; What is the difference between TTY capeability and connecting a braille display to a BT, so 2 can send messages and read at the same time. Thanks. Terry Powers

However, if I purchase a television, do you honestly think I'm going to get a discount because I can't see the screen? I fully support the idea of putting a TTY option in the Braillenote, but as for paying for features I can't use, I like you have been doing it all my life. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of kathleen spear Sent: Monday, January 30, 2006 9:16 PM To: Braillenote List Subject: [Braillenote] Response to Ray Campbell's message Ray, This is KC Spear. Thank you for the nudge on the TTY issue. I've been bugging Humanware since the Braillenote came on the market in the US, as Jim Halliday will confirm! (He holds a special pplace in my heart for putting up with me all these years!) Since Pulsedata and Humanware merged, Jonathan Mosen has indicated the TTY is under consideration. If Freedom Scientific can incorporate TTY software into the Pac Mate, I'm hard pressed to understand why Humanware can't do the same with the Mpower. As I understand it, instead of using the Mpower, they want to build a separate device. That makes no sense to me, especially since it is already feasible to use the Mpower, with PV software anda Buuetooth keyboard, for face-to-face communication. Is it the law of supply and demand? It didn't take them very long to incorporate radio and Media planner features. Even though deaf-blind BN users can't use these features we paid the full price because we wante the KS upgrade. Obviously, there are more folks who can use the FM and Media features. Given the smaller market, Freedom Scientific asks extra for the face-to-face and TTY components in the Pac Mate; and, I would certainly expect Humanware to do the same. ___ To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit http://list.humanware.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote ___ To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit http://list.humanware.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote ___ To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit http://list.humanware.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote
