Hello. Is there a way for deaf-blind to comunicate with the blind via the BN? Perhaps using some sort of bluetooth device?

Thanks,
blake

Hi Terry,
First, It would clarify the situation, if we use the term "T-elecommunication D-evice for the D-eaf, instead of "T-elety-pe (which is what TTY stands for.) Yes, with a TDD, you make calls to others with a TDD or to the State Relay (Most states in the US have a Relay service for deaf and disabled.) Freedom Scientific, as Ray indicated, has incorporated TDD software into the Pac Mate. Carol is correct in that the TDD uses a different Protocol. At the same time, if you have a computer and appropriate software, you can communicate with the "Internet Relay," meaning you can call this service when trying to contact a hearing person and they will "relay" what is said. The second issue, which Humanware appears to have solved, is "face-to-face communication." For example, I will undergo surgry later this month and won't be able to use the device that helps me understand some speech. Since I need to interact with hearing folks who do not know Sign Language, I have to have a means of "receptive" communiction. Using a Palm View and Bluetooth keyboard, I can use my BN for this purpose.
I hope this is clear?
KC
