Darn. I thought I'd be able to enter text in grade 2. If I have to use grade 1, then it won'/t be the timesaver I was hoping for.

The JFW drivers you said to get from the version 7 site. Ah, are you talking BrailleNote 7 or Jaws 7? The FS site or Humanware?

Hi:

It is the same connection but you also have to install the Jfw drivers
available from the v7 download. Once you have them installed you open
terminal and there is a command space I for BrailleNote users.

Once it is working you really can input text. It has to be grade 1
Braille there is no translation. Your display will show you what your
typing don't get confused even though your doing the brailing in grade 1
your display shows you grade 2. confused?

I haven't just tried it yet and maybe I should do that first. LOL. But
one of the new features in version 7 is to be able to enter text using
the BN directly into Word. How is that done? I'm thinking it is the
same serial connection for braille terminal. Then what?
