Once again, I have learned something new. It just shows that there is
only one way to skin a cat. Thanks, Richard, for bringing this topic
up. I don't think I'm alone in my learning. Smile> Take care all.

Maybe it's because it's Tuesday, but I would strongly disagree with
having a tip calculator. I find it, in my opinion, a minor, and
frankly, a lazy way out of something that should be something that is
learned by adults who are competent. Frankly, I would rather see
better file management, a way to read the HTML messages people insist
on sending, and a couple of other things.
Sharon, I can do my own apologizing. <smile> If I sounded impatient,
I was. No beating around the bush, I was impatient. Should have kept
my hands off the keys. However, what you didn't see behind the rough
facade of what I wrote was a sincere desire to help somebody put in
the right numbers so that the write answer could come back. The
simplest way to calculate a tip on the BrailleNote, something which is
available now, is to type amount times 1.15. Say you get a bill in a
restaurant for $10l.47. You want to give a good tip so you type in:
10.47*1.15. The answer comes back as 12.04. Now you can just use
this number or you can subtract the 10.47 from the 12.04 leaving
1.57. Now, you're not going to give a waitress $1.57, so you round up
to sixty cents or down to fifty or whatever. My point here is that
knowing what to put into the calculator is more important than having
it do a macro because you may not have your BrailleNote someday.
Again, sorry for the old tattered brown paper bag and twine that was
the packaging of that previous message.
