Hi Ronda. Dots 1 6 and 3 5 give me a CH and lower J sign respectively.
Do I have to switch to grade 1 Braille? Sorry if this seems rather an
obvious question, only this is fairly new territory to me at this stage.

Mark, the print equivalent for a BT are dots 16.  If you are in 
Braille mode, it is dots 35.
