Hi Natasha, or Aureolesia if you prefer! that message means the BrailleNote can't connect to the program that runs on the PC, KeySync. That might mean that it's not running, or that you haven't got your cable plugged in, for example. It could also be due to other issues like firewall software blocking the port that KeySync uses.
