I think Joseph is right about it being a safety concern for HumanWare. Just for the fun of it, I went to see if I could find the two MP3 audio files for the customer conference HW conducted over a couple of years ago where this subject came up during the conference. I couldn't find them right away but, seeing as I do have the two files already, I was able to put the name of one of them in the search box on the search page of the HW site and find the info. The replaceable battery is briefly discussed in part two of this conference.
Of course, I do know that technology changes all the time; so who knows what the future may bring.
