Hi, all,

Kurzweil 1000 permits skipping upgrades. You pay the same price whether you are going from version 10 to version 11 or from version 1 to 11.

I don't know any company that allows skipping upgrades fs doesn't for jaws and such. I have yet to come across a company where i have some assistive technology and you can skip upgrades. It would be nice if we could but oh well. That is the way of the world.

Hi alex;
That is the one unfair thing about HW, you can not skip upgrades. If
you do, it will cost you the full SMA to get to the second upgrade. If
you start with a new SMA and we have 2 upgrades, it will take one count
for each upgrade or 2 counts to jump to the second upgrade.

I am in the USA but agree. Actually I am thinking about saving my
last SMA count for the version after 7.5 because it will have its
own features plus those of 7.5.

Have a great day,
Alex

Hello list.
I just went on the humanware site and read about the keysoft 7,5
release. Looking at the main features of this release, there are
not many features that a user would benefit from in the uk. Like
the support for bookshare and rfbd books is no use to those who
own a braille note in the uk. I don't think that keysoft 7,5 is
worth a sma. It doesn't have many features that people could use
outside of the usa. So if the users of the braille note outside
the usa could shout out their opinions then we could hopefully
change something. So what does everyone think about this.
