That's probably because there's no air going through to the BrailleNote. I'm not saying that closing the case would overheat the unit, and that overheating can freeze the unit, but there is certainly that possibility. If I was charging my mPower, I'd make sure that it's well ventilated, which includes leaving the case open.

Exactly, and that is the odd part. Open (the cover of the case that is) it does fine, but when the cover is closed and secured it (the BN) freezes.

with the AC adapter. When it is closed, it freezes when I plug
