HI Rob,
Yes, I still remember those threads about hardware suggestions, and here's
what HumanWare pointed out:
* WiFi card: HW said that they are interested in having internal WiFi
conponents (listen to the Second BrailleNtoe Chat and you'll understand
why).
* 802.11N: It is still in acceptance stage as of now, but requires CE
upgradce.
* Spreadsheet: I think the best possibility would be to add support for xls
or pxl files in KeyBase.
* IM client: I know that thread about KeyChat was around for some time now
(I forgot what HW said about this one).
That's all.
Che3ers,
Joseph

Subject: [Braillenote] Curious about innovations

I was just wondering. Things like the FM radio and Eloquence, were those
requested or not? Sometimes i've seen (in general) companies create things
no one has asked for. I'd much rather like to see a spreadsheet in place of
the FM radio, and like someone on here suggested (my apologies for not being
able to remember your name), Eloquence should be removed or the hardware
should be upgraded (in my opinion overhauled). The reason I bring this up is
because I really am starting to wonder about HumanWare's devotion to the
BrailleNote. Understand that I am NOT trying to knock anyone. I understand
whole heartedly that these things take time (programming stuff), but I'm not
sure if a removable battery has been suggested on the list or not (if it
has, it obviously hasn't happened yet). Many notetakers (the Voice Sense &
Braille Sense by GW Micro, and the Icon & Braille Plus by LevelStar, for
example) have removable batteries and I haven't heard any complaints. Also
an IM client I remember has been suggested and has generated considerable
interest, this was before KeySoft 7.5, I was wondering if that's going to
come to pass or not. If someone could reassure me here (about any of these
items) I'd very highly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
