Hi All,

I had previously mentioned here that I had sold my BrailleNote mPower and
its accompanying Sendero GPS.
However, when that sale didn't take place in the end, not knowing what I was
going to do next with the unit, I decided to check into renewing the annual
service agreement. I hadn't done this before, thinking to let the new owner
handle that with HumanWare, assuming they wanted to renew.

So, as mentioned, when the sale didn't go through, I called HW and asked
them about renewing the warranty/service contract. Now, I knew the warranty
had expired very early in this month; however, since it had been less than
thirty days since the
expiration, I was thinking HumanWare might allow me to renew the warranty
without sending the unit back to HW first. But, when I talked with
HW today, I was informed that I would need to send the mPower back to have
a technician check it out first.

Actually, being on the list for sometime now, the HW response wasn't
entirely unexpected. But, it was kind of interesting to see just how
closely after the service contract expiration date they then
require one to send back a unit to have it checked out, rather than maybe
just charge a late fee or something. And, no, grin, as
my unit
isn't sick, and as I could
still very well sell the BN and GPS at some point, I don't plan to send it
back to the HW hospital right now.
