Hey list,
I have been meaning to ask this for a while but just now got
around to it.
In the manual, it says that if you do a 1-2-3 or 4-5-6 reset on a
bt, sdf or jkl on a qt, you will lose any unsaved work, of
course, but also that you will lose any rom upgrades of keysoft,
and I'm not sure about this, but I thought I read that you could
lose your ram content. However, I hear people on list saying
that you should do a 1-2-3 or 4-5-6 reset for things like
clearing virtual memory and also fixing other issues, and there
seems to be no worries about backing up files beforehand or about
losing a later upgrade.
I have ks 7.5.28 now that 28 has come out, but when I got my new
braillenote bt upgraded from the classic to the M-power, it came
with 7.5.20. So, does this mean that I will only lose 28 since
it originally came with 20? In other words, when my classic was
working, I had 4.02, but they upgraded the hardware to an
M-power, so I am assuming the chips and everything were also
upgraded, so I guess I started from scratch except for my
display, is this right? So if I had to do one of those resets
other than just the reset button, would I only lose 28, which is
not a big deal to me.
Sorry for the long and drawn out question. I wanted to get all
of the details for you.
Thanks,
Kerri
