Hi Sarai,
I didn't try the service reset--don't I only need the record
button down for a few secodds?
I have had a couple of replies saying it couldn't be reproduced,
and one saying it could.
This was on an mPower BT (not transplanted) running 7.5.20.
Thanks to all.
One further thing.
I usually read and write in eight dot computer Braille.
I found that if I change preferred reading grade to either 1 or
2, the problem goes away.
It returns when I change back to computer Braille.
Regards,
Steve.

Guide
Hello Steve:
I've attempted to duplicate your issue, and cannot. Have you
tried a
service reset? Remove all cards, go to the main menu, and then
hold down
at the same time the reset and record button. Hold these keys
down for
5-10 seconds.

Subject: [Braillenote] Back thumb key freezes BN in Users Guide
Hi Listers,
Occasionally I get caught by this--when I forget and try it
again.
I wondered if anyone else gets this issue.
It might be specific to transplants, (or even just my machine),
as some
one in the UK HW could not reproduce it on two machines.
I have a BN mPower BT32 7.5.28 which was transplanted from 3.06
to
7.2.47, then upgraded to 7.5.28.
The problem was not there in 3.06, but has been seen in 7.2 and
7.5.
Enter the User's Guide with <space>o then "u".
Pick a subsection from the Index, (e.g., 5.3), and enter it to
read.
Scroll down a couple of lines using the advance key.
Then try a couple of back keys.
This freezes the BN.
It either seems to wake up after about a minute and a half, (no
keys
pressed during this time), or a normal reset.
I have seen it in various subsections, probably happens in all.
It also happens entering from the Table of contents.
It always gets me when I've just read something I didn't quite
understand, so I try to skip back and reread it.
Work arounds:-
(1).
Use the Manual on the system disk instead.
(2). Don't do it, i.e., if using the User's Guide try to remember
you
perhaps cant use the back key.
Regards,
Steve.
