Hello All: I've got a big Keysync problem and I'm wondering if anyone knows how I can fix it. This problem is with my Dell Inspiron 1501 Laptop running Window-Eyes. I've got a Braille Note mPower BT32 and my wife has a Voice Note mPower.
Here is what happened. Keysync was running fine on the Laptop until this past weekend. When working on the Laptop on Saturday, I got a request to update the Adobe Reader to Version 7.1. As part of doing this, I got a message that there were some issues with .net framework version 2.0 and did I want Adobe to undo some of the changes made in .net framework 2.0. I should have said no, but said yes. It was then that the problems started. The next time I tried bringing up the laptop, I got an error from Keysync saying that some .net framework .dll file whose name I can't remember could not be found. I tried re-installing Keysync, but either got the error asking me if Keysync or ActiveSync is running on the PC which they are. Or, I'd get an error saying to install the latest Keysync Desktop software and try syncing again with the Braille Note. OK, I figured, I'd re-download the latest Keysync and install it. Well, when I did that, what now happens is that Keysync comes up and says it has encountered a problem and needs to close. If I try starting Keysync manually from the start->All Programs->Humanware->Keysync program group, I get the same error. I think there is something wrong with my installation of .net framework version 2.0. I have tried both repairing and uninstalling .net framework 2.0 without success. What will happen is the .net framework repair or uninstall utility will run for a while like it's doing its work, then it will say the .net framework repair utility has encountered a problem and needs to close. If I hit send or don't send on this error report dialog, then .net framework runtime service gives me the same thing, that it has encountered a problem and needs to close. What I think would fix my problem is to force Keysync to use the .gip file for .net framework and re-install the components. I can't figure out how to force Keysync to do this and I haven't found a way to re-install the components any other way. BTW, I did try doing a system restore back to before the Adobe update and System Restore won't complete this. So, anyone got any ideas of what I can do to fix this? I'm running Norton Internet Security on the laptop with all updates so don't suspect it's a virus of any kind causing this Thanks for any and all help in advance.
