Shannon, Unfortunately, the BrailleNote does not support WPA as this is a limitation of the Windows CE operating system that is being used. If HumanWare decides to upgrade the operating system to Windows CE 5.0 or 6.0, then WPA will be supported.
The velcro on the back of the unit was more used on the BrailleNote Classic in conjunction with the GPS as there was an attachment type carrying case that you could add to place the receiver and extra wires into. It is recommended that you remove cards and other peripherals as it lessens the battery drain and there really isn't a way of keeping a wirleess card inserted and having the case close.
