Hi Rebecca and List,
You really need the upgrades. The 6.2 upgrade is limited on the size cards it will recognize. Also, even with the newer upgrades, if your Sd cards are Hc, or "High Capacity", the Bn won't recognize them. Chuck and I have used 4 gig Sd cards. We've also used 16Gb Cf cards.
