Hello Kylie:
It could be that your addresses are protected. Did you get a "one file copied message?" From the Main Menu, press F, then P. Go to your Flash Drive. Go to the Keylist file. After you enter, go to your list of files, and press Space with X, until you see "hidden files." When you find your address dot cdb, press Enter. If it says "protected," press U to unprotect it. Let us know how this does.

Subject: [Braillenote] Utilising backed-up Keylist and Keyplan
files

Hello List

I have a backed-up version of my address list and planner on a CF
card, and
would like to move them onto my flash disk to use as the default
planner and
address list. The backed-up version was made on a different
machine, and I
would like to import all the information onto the new machine
without having
to type it all in again. Also, because I no longer have access
to the
original machine on which the files were made, simply retyping
the addresses
and appointments is not an option.

I can access the addresslist (keylist definition file) off my CF
card if I
select it as the keylist file under the keylist options menu.
However, I am
unable to move, import or restore this keylist file into the
keylist folder
on the flash disk. I can only access it when I have the correct
CF card
inserted.

After my attempts to copy the keylist file from my CF card to my
flash disk,
whenever I set the default keylist file in the options menu, I am
given the
message: "access denied".

Can anyone explain how I can replace the empty, default keylist
file with
the backed-up file on my CF card? And also how to regain access
to the
keylist file on my flash disk?

After my failed attempts with my address list, I have not
attempted anything
with my planner, because I have started making appointments in
the default
planner, and do not want to lose them. However, I have
appointments which I
need to access in the backed-up planner. So, is there any way of
setting the
planner files on the CF card as default, and importing the few
appointments
from the current default planner into it, without losing any of
the
appointments in either file? Which of the keyplan files to I need
to move to
ensure that the planner will work correctly?

I am running KS 7.5 built 28 if that makes any difference. The
files I am
attempting to import were made in KS 7.2, although it doesn't
seem to have
made them incompatible because I can access the addresses in the
old address
list.

Thanks for your help,

Kylie
