Sorry. ks is, of course, keysoft. rfbd is an organization offering recorded
books, in daisy format, to blind/reading disabled people. I think they are
only available to U.S. residents. A uak, u A k, is a user authorization key,
or a code that lets a certain device read rfb books. As of keysoft 7.5.31,
the bn family supported reading rfb files; a user got a UAK and entered it,
and the bn could read the books. With ks8.0.20, though, the bn stopped
supporting these books, and the problem carried over to ks9.0 on the apex. A
fix has been promised so that ks8 mPowers and PKs, as well as Apexes, can
again accept an rfb UAK and read these books again.
Have a great day,
Alex

Alex, I don't understand the abbreviations you're using here. Could you
clarify, please.
Thanks!

Subject: [Braillenote] UAK for ks8
Hi all,
I just re-discovered that RFBD UAKs do not work on
ks8.20. I called tech support to verify that the lack of
support message on the RFBD webpage was accurate and was
told it is. However, the person who helped me said that a
fix for this problem should be coming in the next couple
weeks. Do not hold HW to that timeline, but it seems that
there is the possibility of a fix coming soon. Tech
support also said that the Apex's current keysoft version
does not support RFBD either, just so you know.
Have a great day,
Alex
