Hi Wendy,
I have an MPower, not an Apex, but I've been having the same
problem lately. Have you tried switching the unit on, pressing
the reset button, then turning the unit off and waiting for the
"Starting KeySoft" message to disappear before turning the
BrailleNote back on? I'm sure that some of the more
technologically knowledgeable people on this list can give you
more suggestions, but this has worked for me in the past.

Our son's Apex locked up while trying to connect to a hard drive.
It won't
get past "Starting Keysoft". We have tried everything including

taking battery out, etc. Can't get it to active sync as we can't
