When the debug is on, it uses serial port to send useful information to the monitor on a computer. The information is mostly useful for HW staff to find out what's going on with KeySoft.

I made a discovery with the issue I asked about. If you don't want to follow my advice you don't have to, I just figured something out though that might help users of eloquence speech on their bn mpower. Perform a reset with dots 4-5 held down. You don't need the ac adapter to do this even though it says connect ac adapter. Don't have an sd card or any media inserted into the unit when doing this. Press dot 2 on its own when you see update menu v2.6. The braille will show degug on. Press d and it will show debug start and you'll be returned to the main menu as if you had just done a normal reset. Wait 5 seconds before pressing spacebar to move through the menu.
