I haven't had any problems with my case, but with the strap. The strap that came with the Apex didn't have a way to hook the GPS receiver to it, so I used my old mPower strap; but that would occasionally come unhooked, and my Apex would be swinging from my shoulder with half the strap gone, or sliding down to the ground. My husband found an old strap from another type of bag we had, and I'm now using it for my Apex. Its clasps are a lot sturdier.

Subject: RE: [Braillenote] follow-up to Apex case problems

Hi,

I have not had problems with mine so far. I'm glad that Humanware is replacing problem cases. Whether they are covered by warranty or not, it's a good PR move on their part and may also save a lot of expense and time to repair any units damaged by a faltering bad case. I commend Humanware for doing this.

Just got a new one. The cases seem the same and I too have heard that
many people were having problems. My Apex fell out of old case on to
cement floor twice. Fortunately it survived.

Subject: [Braillenote] follow-up to Apex case problems

Hi all,
I just wanted to let everyone know that hw has shipped out a case to
me, for free, to replace my current Apex case. They said that a lot of
people have had the problems I have had. I am not sure if the new case
will be an exact replacement or if it will have some upgrades, but
hopefully I will know in a few days. If you are having problems with
your case, you may be able to request a free replacement. Again, this
is for the Apex only, and I am not sure how far back the problem goes.
For example, VoiceNote Apex users may not be entitled to this since
the vn is so new that it may have the newer case already (if indeed
the replacement is a new design and not just the same thing I have
now). I will let you know what I find out when the case actually gets
here, but in the meantime, if you are having serious problems with
your apex's case, give hw a call and see if you can switch it out for
a new one.
