Hi Sherri,
Sorry to hear that... Sounds like a battery thing. As a last resort, try a
Hardware-based Clean Reset (not Software-based Clean Reset, or ROM Reset);
yes, there are other "undocumented" resets available that many users are
unaware of. Do not ask me here for instructions on this - it's some
information that only hackers and experts know. Before doing hardware-based
Clean Reset, make sure to make a complete backup of your Flash Disk, as
doing so "reformats" it.
For those who are adventurous, here are a few hints: one is something more
destructive than mPower version and another one is a hidden command under a
hidden menu somewhere. I and others may have touched this subject before -
for a complete description, ask me and alex Hall off list.
If that reset didn't fix it, then I bet it's time for a replacement battery.
If the replacement is not working, then I guess it's time to replace the
adapter. Have you managed to ask someone to put their Apex battery in yours
to see if it recognizes it? At this point, based on your situation, a
hardware issue might be causing this problem.
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: [Braillenote] I love my Apex but ...
Importance: High

Okay, I have reached the end of my rope with this Apex. I am still having
the same battery issues I have had all along. Even with the latest update,
sometimes, when I unplug the Apex, it won't start, won't turn on and I can't
even reset it without plugging it back in. Now, it is plugged in and it just
restarted itself and did a memory scan for no apparent reason. This is with
it in the off position. This is the second time today this has happened. I
feel I have spent a tremendous amount of money for something that should be
far more reliable than it is! Sometimes I take it places and go to turn it
on and it will not start and I cannot perform a reset, so it is useless to
me! I am very disappointed and hope there is some way to rectify this
situation, because other than this problem, it is a great piece of adaptive
equipment. Thank you.
