Joseph,
Won't it just work the same as if you're using wifi? In my case, when first
I went onto my home network, I just gave my desktop a name to which I'd
refer to it when using the Apex, then I was away. Now, I cheat a bit and
move files I need to a \temp folder so I can get and use them ... but hey,
it's fine! <Smiles>
If things won't work that way through the ethernet connection then please
explain to me as I think they should ...

connection?
Hi,
I'll test the first problem as soon as I get my Apex back
(to see if it connects to Win7). As for second question,
if I remember right, you need to set up a workgroup or a
domain on your computer, designate one or more folders as
network folder and use Apex (via network place) to access
these folders.
Cheers,
Joseph

I thought about doing that, but I see two problems.
First, I am not sure the apex will connect to a networked
computer
running Vista or later.
Second, since I want to access the folder directly
through the cable,
I am not sure how I would manage the network connection
to do this.

Hi,
The closest that I can envision is creating a network
folder on your computer and access it with your Apex.

Subject: [Braillenote] apex and computer: ethernet
connection?
Hi all,
I have a strange question and I wonder if someone more
knowledgable than I in the area of networking will know
the answer. I know that it is possible to connect two
computers by ethernet cable and move files between them.
Can I do the same thing between an Apex and a computer
running win7x64? When and if hw gets bluetooth file
exchange working this will not be necessary, but until
then I would like a better way to move files than a
thumb drive. Any ideas? Thanks.
