I have only rarely had this happen, but I would not mind such a mode.
I imagine the toggle would be something hard to do, such as
backspace-enter with all six keys. It can be frustrating when you
suddenly realize that you have just typed two paragraphs at the top of
a file because you hit space too close to an l.
