I went into iTunes and changed the name of the iPhone itself.  Actually, I left 
the name the same, Vicky Collins's iPhone, but I typed it in myself.  That way, 
the strange character around the apostrophe of the default name got taken out 
and then I was able to use the hotspot feature with the Apex without a problem.
