Hi Laura and list: The kernel version is put there for PDI's reference and is our build number for the operating system. It's so we can keep track of any changes we make to Windows CE.

If the default bn voice comes up telling you that the flash disk could not be found and telling you to press the reset button again, you have version 5 in rom, (though I don't remember PDI saying they were shipping burnt versions yet). If you have 4.01 in rom, then your unit will revert to 4.01 until you do another simple reset. > > However, here's my question for PDI. From the main menu, if I press space with i, one of the items near the end say (kernel, version 4". Is that the version that is burned into rom? Just curious. Maybe someone who knows they have 3.6 burned in could check and see if their's is different. HTH, Laura > > > "The most important job is not to be governor, or first lady in my case." (George W.
