Hi Paul,

There was a revision and what that did was to reduce the daily drain when the 
bn was turned off, but it didn't eliminate it.  

Remember that it can still sound preset alarms and such when its turned off, 
and also it can let you know whether the ac adaptor is on or off as well.So, 
there's clearly some degree of constant monitoring even when the bn is off.
