Hi Desi,

If I remember correctly, the Canon BJ series are similar to the HP Deskjet
printers.<smile> Therefore, make sure that under the Printer Setup
settings, you're using the HP Laserjet/Deskjet printer driver from the
BrailleNote.

Second, it seems from your message that the BrailleNote is accepting
your printed data but the printer isn't responding. As someone who used to
work for a printer help desk support line, I can tell you that printers can
sometimes be temperamental little critters.<smile> For example, I have a
Samsun laser printer here that supports both USB and parallel printing. My
computer uses the USB port, while the BrailleNote is connected via a
parallel port. If the printer fails to print when I give the command to
print, I usually have success when I turn off the printer and then turn it
back on, then try the print command again. If this fails to fix the problem
for you, I would suggest the following steps. I know it's annoying, but I
found this to help when I was doing tech support with printer customers.

Turn off the printer and the BrailleNote. Disconnect the cable from
both machines, reconnect the cable on both machines. Turn on the
BrailleNote, then the printer. I suggest the BrailleNote first so that the
communication can be establish between the BrailleNote and the printer in
order that the BN will find the printer on the parallel port, and the
Printer will find the BN. My laser printer usually makes warming up noises
whenever I connect the BrailleNote to the parallel cable. Given that the
Canon is an inkjet printer, I'm not sure this will happen, but just in
case....<smile>

Finally, are you able to print from the Canon using your computer?
Are you using the same printer cable for your computer that you use with
your BrailleNote? If you are using the same cable, as I said above, I would
suggest turning off the printer before connecting to the BN. If you can't
print and you use the same cable, as I suggested above, try having a totally
free connection, no cables, then connect with everything turned off, then
connect, then turn the BN on then the printer.

If you still have problems, reply here or write me privately.

I hope this helps,

Beth
