That seems to be the way it's supposed to work, as I just tested mine and
it did the same thing, returning the Braille display to the user
guide. But if I'm at the main menu or in a word document or a book or
whatever, then the Braille display will show the level. If this is a bug,
it's a bug for everyone and not just on your unit. If you're concerned
about the battery level, you might want to exit the user guide, check the
level, then go right back in to the user guide. It will ask if you want to
continue where you left off, and you just say yes.

Hi Peggy,
Thank you very much for your prompt answer and for your much needed
information! I appreciate it very much. One more question for you,
please. I went to the options menu and pressed p. The voice said the
power level but the braille display returned me to the user guide where I
was reading before the draining of battery thing. Then I went to the
options menu again and went option by option to the battery power
option. I pressed next, it didn't work. I did it all over again and
pressed enter, it didn't work either. It was returning me back to the
user guide in both cases. Do you think I should talk to the technical
support people about that or do I cut it short and return the unit? It's
still under warranty. It's still supposed to be brand new. I shouldn't
put up with all this when it's supposed to be brand new. Right?
Thank you once more
God bless
Eva
