Dear BN Folks,

I would like to use WEB BRAILLE from NLS.
I received my pass word but what would be most helpful is some direction?

1 Where do I go, what sight?
go to: http://www.loc.gov/nls/braille

2 How do I find the books?
once logged in, go to web-blnd. there are forms to type in the information.
in the keyword edit box type in quotations "web braille"

3 How do I down lode books?
This can be a bit more tricky, use the up and down arrow keys to find the
book you want, after it, there are web addresses such as
http://www.loc.gov/nls/braille/book#1.brf&%volume1.brf...
you click the links, the braille file is going to open right in keyweb. What
you want to do it save it as a braille file, so press control S to save, if
you want to choose the drive you may have to press backspace----, then
choose the folder or press control T if you prefer directory mode instead of
folder mode. Then choose the folder or directory press enter, choose the
file name. Make sure to give it a .brf extension.

4 Is there a catalog of Web Braille books?
As far as I know the catalog is online.

5 Is NLS the only place to get WEB BRAILLE Books?
Yes, nls is the only place to get web braille books strictly speaking. For
classic literature you might try project gutenberg. However, if you want
them in braille you can use the translate menu in the braille note to
translate between braille and text: note: currently translating between
braille and text currently means from a .txt file to a .brf or .brl file,
you cannot go from a .doc file to say: a .brf file.

Sorry for all the questions.
This is very new to me.
Thanks for any help.
