Hi Frank: - Well I download web braille a little bit differently than
most. Firstly, I active-sync my braillenote to my computer. Next, I go
to the NLS web site "www.loc.gov/nls", and then click on either read
braille book review (on the next page you want to select the book review
- text version, and not the html selection", or if you know the author,
or title, or subject your interested in then instead of selecting "read
braille book review", you can then instead click on "voyage search of
the online catalogue. Once you have decided and selected a book, click
on the corresponding volume link pertaining to that particular book
(most web braille books you will find come in several volumes). The
next screen will be unreadable, since the book will come up in a braille
translation layout. What I typically do next will be to do a "save as",
(make sure you slect "txt" file type, to my hard drive on my computer,
and then after all is downloaded of all the volumes I'm interested in, I
then perform a cut and paste, and transfer the volumes I want onto my
braillenote. This way I can quickly swap books on and off of my
braillenote quickly whenever necessary. Seems to work very smoothly,
and as yet I've not encountered any problems. Happy downloading, it can
be quite addictive. All the best. - Kim
P.S. - You can also download a braille copy of the braille forum from
the "www.acb.org" as well onto your braillenote.

Subject: [Braillenote] web braille help please
Dear BN Folks,
I would like to use WEB BRAILLE from NLS.
I received my pass word but what would be most helpful is some
direction?
1 Where do I go, what sight?
2 How do I find the books?
3 How do I down lode books?
4 Is there a catalog of Web Braille books?
5 Is NLS the only place to get WEB BRAILLE Books?
Sorry for all the questions.
This is very new to me.
Thanks for any help.

winter for us.
