You will only lose them if they were not saved; by closing the document,
using space with E (dots 1-5) you are saving the document; I recall you
asking if the braillenote were closed with the document open......
closing with the document open, leaves it vulnerable to loss as it was
not saved with space E (dots 1-5) or closing keyword with the proper
command (the dots 1, 2, 3 4, 5, 6, with space closes keyword and places
the bn at the main menu, safe to turn off with documents saved.
