Hi Naomi I hate to inform you that your email database has been corrupted. In sincerely hope that you have a recent backup of your email database, or that you did not keep very many email within your bn. If you have followed various threads on this list, you will know that you are not, under any circumstances, supposed to reset, turn off, or let your machine's batteries go flat. This includes when your bn is in the process of deleting, moving, copying, or saving email, emptying the trash, or freeing database space. Such a huge topic as email database corruption can hit it home that even though we may not believe certain email threads apply to us, we should read them to see if they hold any helpful info for us, or in this case, prevent this very frustrating experience to happen again.
Naomi, follow the steps below and you will be started fresh with a new, and, unfortunately EMPTY email database. Go to the main menu and press f for the file manager. Hit d for the directory option. Select the flash disk as your drive, and keylist as your folder. Press space with x (read with x) so that all files are viewed. Press e to jump to the files beginning with e. When pointing to the file called email folders.cdb, press backspace with c (control with 8) and press y to confirm. Next, press e from the main menu to enter keymail. Press w to write an email. You will hear, "database does not exist. Create one?" Answering yes will create a brand new email database. All of your previous folders will be there, however, your email will not. Again Naomi, I know how incredibly frustrating this can be, as I've experienced it myself. Lessons like this only teach us, the very hard way, to backup backup backup every single day, and to never, ever, if it can be avoided, turn off, reset, or let your batteries go flat while working in keymail unless it is absolutely necessary.
