Hi, Brenda. people have told me that it is a good idea to drain the battery
flat before you charge it. I don't really know if this is necessary. I used
to do the same thing with my braille lite 18.
I could see why you might be worried when going on line and having your
battery drop to a low percentage. I would think that if I were at ten
percent and I decided to go on line, I would plug the unit in. If I were
at, say, 25 percent or 35 percent, I would think that I should have quite a
bit of time on line before things got dangerously low. I have never
actually tried that. Since I know the modem is quite a drain on the bn, I'd
probably keep my charger handy.
I can always check to see what percentage I am at any time with escape and
the red key on my qt; so I am never in the dark as to where I am with a
charge. Moving the bn to a lower percentag would keep that message from
popping up on the display every few minutes when I am reading and any time
I want, I can always press escape and read to see what the percentage left
of my battery is.
I know the bt has a similar method of checking charge.

Hi Paul,
You must have a very good battery in your unit. Yours seems to be working
the way it should. No, I don't think I want the battery low warning to
start at a lower percentage. I'll tell you why. If I'm online for a
time, the battery could drop as much as 3 percent rather quickly. In any
case, why did you feel you had to drain the battery all the way before
recharging it? Just curious.
