I think there must be a way to write macros and use them within a file. I'll admit, I haven't read the whole manual, but when I was a Braille and speak user, I used to write macros to delete unwanted characters in my posts and files. There was a way to call up macros once the file was open. Then you could run it with your file open and get rid of whatever, even inssert things if you wanted. Let's see if I can give a better explanation. Let's say I wanted to get rid of those greater than signs. Now the greater than sign in ascii is dots345. I'd write a macro with the find command and then that symbol then the comannd to delete, and give the loop or repeat command. When the macro was finished, it just stopped and said no more found. I don't see a macro creat menu here, so am I'm just stupid, or isn't there such a thing. Braille and speak actually had a creat macros option. Then one could execute them any time. Yes, I'm dating myself. Once upon a time I had a message to post on the bulletin board at the end of 1989 or so. I was quoting a long message. I didn't know that after every line return there was a line feed. That's how it worked. I posted that long article or whatever, and boy was I in trouble. I had exceeded the message length limit. I appologized to the host and looked for why my message had gone crazy reading one character at a time. I found it. The macro said something like this after that incident. "find return, space delete. It was deleting that line feed. Looped it, and it just! followed whatever instructions return." I ran that macro every time before I sent out a quoted message. Before I panic people here, that was old technology. I doubt you'll have to take line feeds out of your messages, as I did. But what about our friend who wants to get read of that greater sign for whatever reason? Can she write a macro in here, with Braille note?
