Yes, I've set it up pretty much as you describe. I'm surprised it is apparently somewhat different with Cingular than at&t, but I wouldn't be surprised if Cingular doesn't have a higher level of security. This just may be my problem and I'm going to contact Cingular again and see what I can do. They are very helpful actually, it's mostly a matter of locating the person who knows the most about some of these things or one who's willing to take the time to investigate a bit. I'm sure it isn't that difficult, just a matter of getting someone to locate the necessary information.

For example, Sonyericsson uses 2. Finding out the CID varies from phone to phone so perhaps the best way is to ask the manufacturer. 2 In BN's modem field select hayes compatible on infrared. 3For the phone number field enter *99***n# where "n" is your phone's cid. 4 For the service user name, I enter my mobile phone number. It may not be the same with your ISP, so you need to check. 5 Enter the service password provided by your ISP. For security reasons I am sure this is needed. 6 Set up your pop account. 7 Check to see if you need to enter the primary and secondary dns and if your isp uses a proxy server and fill in those fields if needed. 8 Log onto network should be set to "no". hth Choon Hwee ----- Original Message ----- From: "Don Bishop" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Braillenote List" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Thursday, April 08, 2004 1:33 PM Subject: Re: [Braillenote] the bn and cingular wireless > HI Jonathan, > I already figured that one out via trial and error. <grin> > So I am using the connect modem to infrared under the modem option.
