Hi Roselle, The reason why KeySoft 5 was burnt into ROM for me was because this was done when my BrailleNote was sent for repair in December. I was told that every time the unit was sent for servicing, if you had a Flash Disk upgrade, the latest version of KeySoft would be burnt into ROM. When I sent my unit in for repair, the burning was covered under the warranty. I think it would also be covered by the Service Contract, because repairing would count as servicing, wouldn't it? I see what you're saying, and I probably wouldn't have had it burnt into ROM had it not been done for me in December. However, if it's covered in Service Contracts (I'm not sure it is), I wouldn't mind having it done. Just my opinion. Hope you don't mind. Also, does the upgrade cost $95? Someone told me it cost $200, so it's kind of a relief for me to find out it costs half of what I thought it did. However, you're right in thinking that $95 can buy you some memory cards. I think the reason it's so expensive is that it's not really mass produced like mainstream software, but it is still a lot of money when you think of it in terms of mainstream applications. Just a thought. Maria
