Hello List,

I paid for my hardware upgrade, got Keysoft 5.0, then 5.1, what more would one want for their money? I for one am enjoying working with what I have now rather than waiting for more pie to drop out of the sky! I'll be taking a trip shortly and I'll be using my BN on the road for Email! As I change email providers, the BN has been a valuable tool! I have been able to gracefully keep track of the old address to determine the status of a good many things! Most technology has problems perhaps and there is still much I don't know about my bn, but I'm thoroughly enjoying the capabilities I have with it!

Hi, Jonathan and everyone on the list. I tend to agree with Sandy. I have heard all of the things from Jonathan and while I feel he is sincere in what he says, still, I come away with nothing to cling to. I don't know if we will see anything by the summer shows or will I be waiting until the first quarter of next year. I have no idea. I have no idea what I will see, either. Will it be hardware or software or both? My SMA only will cover software. Sandy's comment concerning the SMA made me think. I paid 145 dollars or so for my two downloadable upgrades. If nothing is forthcoming before december of next year, does that mean I just threw away 145 dollars? Do the upgrades have to be within a one year period of time or is it whenever they come out? I never asked that question of my sales person and I don't believe that I was told that only if the two upgrades come out within a one year period of time that I would be elligible for them. If I paid 145 dollars for two upgrades, I would think I would get those no matter how far apart they were. I have only past PDI behavior to base anything on, but basing my conclusion on the past performance of PDI, I don't see how they will come out with two major software upgrades before december of next year. Does that mean I over paid when I didn't have to? Does that mean I pretty much lost money when I could have just paid for one update? If I don't year anything on the list, guess I will have to call humanware customer service and get them to explain it to me. But I am not going to be a happy person if I paid 145 dollars for only one upgrade. It wouldn't make me want to pay for a SMA in the future.

Hi Jonathan,

Information is information. No matter how scurrilously obtained these posts have had two major effects, 1; They sparked off a very fruitful discussion, which, I believe, has lead to a distillation of ideas, IE, that most of the fixes and improvements requested by list members, can only be met by a major upgrade of the OS and browser. Rather than wait for small fixes from pulsedata, with a suitable upgrade, we could obtain genuine connectivity with the main-stream if pulsedata will only recognise this fact. 2; While this info may have come through a round about means, you have not actually disputed any of the assertions. For me, a bn user of some 2 and a half years, this info has made me think very seriously of going for the trade-in option (the bar code reader clinched it) So I have decided to give my bn 6 months to get its act together and provide me with the kind of functionality which is available to everyone else.

Lastly, I am, as are many others I note from comments on the list, tired of hearing that "Good point, it will be added to the list for future upgrades" If PDI seriously think that tipping your hand to the competition by committing yourselves to merely bringing the bn a fraction closer to what they already provide will actually diminish your competitive edge, I can only say that you have lost the plot, you have also lost the competitive edge. We want clear cut commitment, both within a fixed time reference and a defined target of functionality from PDI and we want it now so that we can make informed choices with regard to where we continue to put our cash.

I seem to remember paying for a SMA which, supposedly entitled me to 2 major upgrades in one year. Where is the second part? I am not rich and have no intention of "forward financing" PDI, so where and in what form, is my upgrade?

Hoping for a real, factual and informative response (the feel good factor I can get from Harry Potter) I look forward to hearing your reply,
Sandy.
