A USB port would require a hardware modification to the Braillenote. Software can be easily updated, hardware is quite a different matter. For example, if a USB port were to be added to the Braillenote, each and everyone who wanted such an update would have to send their respective Braillenotes back to PDI in order that the modifications might be made. It is not the same as a software update. You would also have to pay a nice piece of change in order for this to happen, I imagine.
