I don't believe Microsoft have adopted Samba as their official client/server for SMB/CIFS (file sharing), but I may yet be shown to be wrong. Why not use the built-in Windows CE network client, or can you not get a hold of it from inside your software using the libraries? It seems a lot of bloat to include the entire Samba service when you don't need it ...
