Tesa,
unplug the card reader for now.
Then put in the CD Rom and follow the prompts.
Your screenreader should read it.  I know Jaws does.
Your best bet is to use the automatic installer and let er rip!
You should be prompted when to plug in your reader.
The reader will show up as an extra drive, that is, if you have a floppy drive 
it's usually a and the hard drive is usually c and so forth depending on how 
many drives you have.
It will show up in "My computer and have an icon on the systray.
By the way, what brand of card reader did you get?
We have a multiple card reader from Sandisk that has slots for different cards 
and each slot is recognized as a different drive, i.e.  e f etc.
