Hi Paul,

Well, now that I know better, I'll not try to calibrate anymore, either.
But thanks for the tip about making the process go faster. For, after I had
already invested over nine hours in the process, I decided to just let the
battery talk itself down, anyway. However, it took too long for me to know
exactly when it stopped. It was still going strong at sixteen hours, but
had stopped completely and shut itself off when I woke up at twenty-two
hours. So, somewhere in those six hours I was in bed, guess it stopped and
I had to do a c one and 4 to turn the unit back on, something that wasn't
entirely unexpected.

Subject: RE: [Braillenote] calibrating the battery on the PK

Hi Vicky,

You'll no doubt have seen Dean's response to you by now on this one. If you
do want to run the battery right down by using either Speech or Braille, put
a flash card like the Sandisk Wireless Card into the PK, which causes it to
draw more current and hence will run down more quickly. In point of fact,
while Dean rightly points out that our measure based on voltage won't be as
accurate as the gauge approach, I personally prefer not having to calibrate
etc. The voltage check is how most conventional PDAs do it as far as I know.

Paul.
