Hello Sarai,

I'm not sure if someone already answered your question, but I had a similar
problem with school books this year. Ask the publisher if they can give you
either PDF, text, or word documents. If they are using "Mac" files, this
may mean a desktop publishing program like Framemaker, Adobe Pagemaker, or
Quark express. Many of these desktop publishers can export to PDF
documents, it's been fairly common for this pdf format to exist because many
of my instructors can access those from the publisher's web sites.
Obviously, the BrailleNote can't read PDF files. However, if you have a
copy of Adobe Acrobat, or a copy of Kurzweil or Openbook, you can save these
files to text format, word, or html depending on the software you have
available. If you could give me the file extension that the publisher says
they are using to save files, e.g. *.eps, which is an Adobe format I
believe, perhaps I or others of us can give you some solutions to the
problem you're experiencing.

Best of luck,

Beth

Subject: [Braillenote] question about Mac files

Hey:
I'm about to take a Spanish class and the publisher has the book in
electronic format, but its created for Mac machines. Is there a way to
convert the files to use on a P.C. and a Braille Note?
