yes this is possible. You first need to connect the BrailleNote to the
computer, preferably using the serial port. Then go to the Main Menu on
the BrailleNote, switch off, switch on again after waiting between 5 and
10 seconds, and perform a reset (with no keys held down). This ensures
that ActiveSync is not using the serial port. Then, when the BrailleNote
is at the Main Menu, press T for Terminal For Screen Reader. Next you
need to turn ActiveSync right off on the PC. The way I do that is just
to close ActiveSync and perform a reboot. Next start JFW and tell it to
use the BrailleNote Braille Display on Com X (where X is the port number
E.G. Com 1, Com 2 etc), 9600 board, 8 databits and 1 stopbit. That
should already be set up, and if you can't see those options, don't
worry too much.

You should now be using your BrailleNote as a Braille Terminal

Subject: [Braillenote] using the braille note as a display with jaws

Hi. Does jaws 4.51 support this and how would I set up the braille note
to be a display for jaws at home where I'm running 4.51. I'd like to
know how to set that up in case I needed to or just wanted to and is
there a way to take notes like go from display mode into a document then
back to display? I thought I read recently that this is possible and if
not, is that something that could be added at some point?
